The Oscimed SA Somnolis Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) is the entry-level version of the Somnofit MAD, allowing you to try this treatment in an affordable way.

How It Works

The Somnolis MAD helps reduce snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) by gently repositioning the lower jaw forward during sleep. This forward movement of the jaw helps keep the airway open and prevents it from collapsing, which is a common cause of snoring and OSA. By maintaining a clear air passage it promotes better airflow and improved breathing, leading to a quieter and more restful night’s sleep. At the same time, it tenses the tissue in the back of the throat, making it less floppy and, therefore, less prone to vibrations, resulting in the dreaded sound of snoring. (Try it now by lying on your back, then push your lower jaw forward a bit and feel how you can breathe more easily.) The device allows advancement of the lower jaw in 4 positions: 3mm / 6mm / 8mm and 10.5mm.

The two-piece oral appliance is simple to use and ideal to take away with you due to its small and compact size.

Please note: This treatment is not recommended as a permanent solution for snoring and OSA. If you suspect Sleep Apnoea please book a sleep study and/or consult your doctor. This product is designed to be a “proof of concept” device. The intention is for it to be used as treatment for short-term periods such as a weekend away. It is not intended to be a long-term solution. If effective, it is then recommended to move on to a longer-term option such as the Somnofit.
